My past experiences with research writing in high school and college made me feel nervous. It made me not want to take English 100 at all. Every time it came to me registering for classes for the semester, I would put it off or think to myself I didn't need it. I feel like sometimes I write like I talk and I heard that's not good. So, as I'm taking English 100, I hope it helps me become a better writer.
When it came to writing my research paper, I had a hard time thinking about what to write. I went back and forth about so many topics, then I found the one that fits perfect with what's going on in the world today. I decided to write my research paper on police brutality against African American men, because it is a topic that touches home for a lot of African American people.
Researching for my paper was kind of easy. I found two big stories that made the news back in the summer of 2014. It was the police brutality against Eric Garner and Michael Brown. These two stories touch the black community in a way that was devastating to even read about, but it was a story worth writing about. So, I decided to research it and ask the question, "How can Americans stop police brutality against black men"?
In conclusion, I was also able to read up on more police brutality that happen back in the 50 and 60, that gave me a little more insight to my paper.
